It was almost midnight at the forest of magic. The occasional hooting voice of owl, and the sound of crickets formed a silent orchestra. It was pitch dark there and there was no light at all but from a small house. The house look organized and well kept as well as well litted, as contrast with the one nearby which look like an abandoned house with various coloured and oddly shaped mushroom growing around it. In the small and well litted house, live a puppeteer. Still awake at this time of the night, she is sitting on a chair facing a table in front of a window. To the right of the table, stands a giant bookshelf with various books in it. Some of the books are missing, although the puppeteer know where they went. The image of a certain Witch borrowing them from her few months ago resurfaced. Not far from there, against a wall there's another shelf but this time it's filled with dolls, a lots of dolls. Among the stand still dolls, only two were moving about while carrying small feather duster and cleaning the shelf itself.
"Shanghai, Hourai" The puppeteer called to them while closing a journal book. She put the quil and the ink at the corner of the table beside a locked grimoire. On top of the book there's a scribble of her name, which read as "Alice Margatroid...." The puppeteer muttered her own name while sighing and staring at the window. Both of her dolls come hovering and rest on top of the table. Alice smiles gently and stroke the hair of both the dolls in turn. The dolls as if understand the master's worry stares at alice's eyes. "No... it's nothing, really" Smiling again, she brushes her own hair with her right hand.
"It has been Two Months hasn't it?" Alice keeps glancing outside the window, towards the other house which is pitch dark at the moment as if there's no sign that a person ever live there. There's no sign of the witch who used to barges into her house looking for foods and tea. There's no sign of that thief who usually sneaks into her house to steal her books and never actually return them. There's no sign of that Monochrome who ask for her companion during the fake full moon.
"Geez.. Why should I Be worrying about her? About that Monochrome.. I hate her, and that's that" But, even so.. She can't explain what's this feelings she has at the moment. She feels as if there's a void inside of her. The two dolls are still staring at her, as if asking her if she's okay.
"I'm okay, really..." Yes, she should be okay, she's there alone even before she knows that witch. All the memories of the past come back to her, stinging like needles. She rest her head on the table, facing sideways. Can it be.. She's worried about her? nah.. it can't be.. or so she thought to herself, but Even so... even so.. Even when she denied it with all her might, Tears started flowing down her cheek. Her heart is in pain and she feels like she want to end her suffering right here and now. "I Can't really miss her now, can I? After all what she's done to me.. after what we've been through" Why tears started flowing down on her cheek? Why is she crying now? Suddenly she realized it. The answer is right there in front of her but she just keep denying it as night deepens, silence really envelop the forest and finally with the puppeteer fell asleep with her head resting on her table and her eyes swollen while muttering a sentence she thought she'd never say. "I Miss you..."
